About Cumberland Lodge Weekend
The National Committee is planning an interesting, useful and broad ranging programme for this year’s gathering of members of the FLBA at Cumberland Lodge, including:
Dr. Irene Scheimberg, Consultant Paediatric and Perinatal Pathologist at St. Barts and The Royal London, with others, will continue the debate about the standing of the triad in head injury cases in the light of recent medical research, particularly regarding vitamin D deficiency.
Dr. Rob George, Postdoctoral Fellow at University College, Oxford will discuss his child relocation research and findings to date.
William Longrigg, a Partner in the Family Team at Charles Russell, will talk about what solicitors expect of counsel
Rachel Langdale QC of 7 Bedford Row, will provide a guide to applying for Judicial Review, which many more of us may find particularly useful from April this year
Kathryn Cronin of Garden Court Chambers will provide a guide to immigration law for family barristers.
Prest v Prest & Petrodel (piercing the corporate veil) was heard by the Supreme Court on 5th and 6th March 2013 by 7 Justices -There will be a session to discuss this important case.
In addition there will be the customary updates on developments in financial cases, private law children and public law children.
Cumberland Lodge is not just about gathering CPD points, it is also about making and maintaining contacts with other family barristers across England & Wales, and enjoying stimulating and informative discussions about all that is topical in family law, in very pleasant surroundings: http://www.cumberlandlodge.ac.uk/
We are very keen to make the 2013 conference (which runs from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime) a success. Please put this weekend in your diary and come and join us.
